“ Holy crap. I am blown away!!! I lived In Hawaii for a year back in 2015 and ever since then, I have never. Ever. Found any Hawaiian food to compare to actual stuff. I’ve tried every place in Portland and other cities, to no avail.... UNTIL TODAY!!! To start, I gotta say that I’ve passed this place 1000’s of times and never have stopped. It looks a little run down from the outside and is never open when I pass by so I always thought it was out of business. But I drove by today and noticed it was open so I stopped by to try it. Also - side note: I’ve tried another Hawaiian time in Salem back about a decade ago that was pretty awful so I didn’t have high hopes for this place at all. I ordered the Ali’i (large) Mauna Loa chicken plate with a Hawaiian Sun P.O.G. It’s a spicy chicken dish that came with rice and Mac salad. First thing I did was try the Mac salad. What a friggin explosion of flavor!! The BEST Mac salad I’ve had, to date. Super flavorful, lots of pepper, creamy with plenty of sauce. Absolutely perfect Second, I tried a bite of the chicken. Perfectly moist with just the right amount of spice. Friggin MELT IN YOUR MOUTH YUM. And they gave you plenty of sauce to mix with your rice which is a huge plus for me. Next, I added some Nori Komi Furikake to my white rice and chowed down. Another perfect bite I’m so glad I got the large so I can take some home for later. I paid 21 for a huge serving of food that could possibly feed me three meals, a drink and 20% tip. Absolutely insane. Cannot wait to take my husband and kiddo here, they’re gonna love it!! ”
“ Went here for lunch and was pleasantly delighted. My husband (native Hawaiian and very picky about Hawaiian food) said the Kalua pig was very good and the Mac salad was "right". I had the Huli Huli chicken and it was delicious! The servings were generous! We ate in, it wasn't crowded and was very clean. I noticed lots of people were picking up having ordered online and there was a drive through option available. FYI: I believe due to shipping issues they have a more simplified menu, but I kinda liked that it was very straight forward. ”

“ I’ve been going to Hawaiian time for several years now, and their food always hits! Their food is flavorful, you get a good portion, and staff are always friendly. Even though this place from the outside may look a little deserted, their food is outstanding and impeccable. Their mac salad is a must, I always get their Mauna Loa chicken and love it every time! ”
“ We’ve been eating at Hawaiian time for a long time! Way too many years to count. Food here is amazing!! Wonderful staff who are friendly and kind. The inside is clean, fully stocked and kid friendly. The outside doesn’t look great but it’s all about the food. Delicious, large portions, comes with extra sauces if needed. Prices are great. There is a drive thru but sometimes closes, I assume based on staffing. Meals have lots of flavor and the mac salad is truly a wonder. Love this spot. ”
“ I used to live in Beaverton and My friends and I made a point of eating here least once or twice a month for lunch. It’s absolutely delicious, and the portions are so darn big that you end up having enough for dinner later. I wish I could tell you which dish to order, but the truth is, they’re all so tasty that you really can’t go wrong.... and the mac is addictive AF. So yummy. To top it all off, the staff is always so warm, friendly, and welcoming - it almost feels like you’re coming in for a bit of home cooking. HIGHLY recommend giving this place a shot. It’s well worth the calories (but please don’t tel me how many - because it’s too damn yummy to be a reasonable amount ) ”
“ The exterior of this place looks terrible to the eyes but the interior is well kept. The food is extremely affordable. They have 3 different sizes and the service is fast. Didn't realize that a drive through existed but it was quickly confirmed when I saw the cashier with a headpiece and handing a meal out the window. Maybe it should be better pointed out. But walking isn't that hard, at least for someone with decent knees. ”
“ Cute Hawaiian decor inside with live plants and flowers. The cashier was super nice, she helped us when we had dietary specifications to abide by. When our order came up which was really quick, she brought it to our table and even got us forks and sauce since my company was in a wheel chair and saw it was hard for me to walk. It's so hard to find customer service like this anymore. ”
